DóruLocal-first genealogy for the AI era

Your family tree lives in a plain folder on your disk, works fully offline, and is driven by AI agents — through the built-in chat or any MCP/ACP client. No accounts, no cloud, no telemetry: your data stays with you.

All platforms

🗂️

Local-first

A project is a single .doru file (SQLite); photos live in a media folder next to it. Nothing is hidden, nothing is uploaded.

🤖

AI-native

Agent chat with tree tools, MCP server mode for Claude Desktop and Cursor, MCP host for external servers, and ACP agents.

🔒

Private by design

The app never phones home: no accounts, no cloud, no telemetry. The only network calls are the AI providers and MCP servers you configure yourself — API keys stay in your OS keychain, and with Ollama or LM Studio even the AI runs entirely on your machine.

🎨

Text config

Settings live in settings.json — AI providers, themes, and more. Plain text, hot reloaded, editable by humans and agents alike.

🌍

Cross-platform & 17 languages

Runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux. The interface is fully localized — from English and Russian to Japanese and Simplified Chinese.

💾

Portable by design

Back up by copying a folder. Open it on macOS, Windows, or Linux. GEDCOM import and export keep you interoperable.

🐙

Open source

The entire app is MIT-licensed: free for any use, modification, and redistribution. Full source in the open — no proprietary parts, no open-core tricks.
